Bobby Gruenewald from life church posted this video on Swerve this morning. I watched it and all I could say was WOW, I was struck with the enormity of it and it end with a question and I am left excited, scared, overwhelmed, and saying WOW. So I figured I would share and you can add your 2 Cents. How should we be capitalizing on technology to build God’s Kingdom?
After a 2 weeks in Windows hell (let’s be honest it has actually been 13 years), I have seen the light and am walking away from windows. Halleluhah I have been set free. A generious congregate is giving me a Mac Book. My deliverance has come, Herb and John I coming to the promised land!!!!!!!!!!
I just signed up for Twitter. If you want to find me click here. Twitter seems kind of cool, you can send in updates so those following you know what is going on with you at any giving moment of the day. Could be a little voyeuristic but I’ll give it a try. So now I can say that I am a Twitterer or that I am Twittering. Twittering that sound very funny. Anyway check it out. I also signed up for Gtalk finally so any of you folks chatting on Gtalk my ID is ClifMcKinley if you would like to add me.
As far as the social networking sites go Facebook is loosing my interest, I just don’t love it, a lot of times I don’t even like it.
I joined Facebook about year ago when Bobby from Lifechurch.tv blogged about it on Swerve. So I gave it a try and worked it for a few months, but it just seemed like my Inbox was getting slammed with junk from Facebook about everyone and their brother and the various updates they have made and invites to everything under the sun. It became annoying. I know some people just love it and think it is God’s gift to Social Networks but I barely even login any more.
I think I like Myspace much better. I have been on myspace for well over a year and have really enjoyed using it. Maybe because all the bands I love are on there, maybe it is because I can express myself creatively with my layout, pics, and song. Maybe because so many random folks from my past have found me on there. I don’t know, yes Myspace is grittier in its ads and what not but it just seems to work better for me. Maybe I am not sophisticated enough for Facebook.
So let me have it everyone, I sure I will get loads of comments on this one, I want to know which do you prefer Facebook or Myspace and why?
A few months back a great tool was launched by the creative team at Lifechurch, YouVersion. It is an online interactive Bible. YouVersion has multiple translations available as well as a journal for you to record your notes as you go. You can also highlight and star passages. This is an awesome tool for me because as many of you know I WRITE IN MY BIBLE, A LOT, so much so that I have to get new Bibles every other year. So this year I am using YouVersion for my personal daily Bible reading, I am also using their One Year Bible plan. So I encourage you to log on and check it out. Set up a free user account and experience God’s Word in a whole new way.
Well it took me long enough, but I have finally set up the churches podcast through iTunes for all our Apple and iTunes fans.
For now you can access us at THIS LINK The link will open iTunes and take you to our feed.
One of my goals for the year is to make better use of Podcasting and Video teaching through the blog for the purpose of leadership training/development as well as supplementals to the Sunday messages for those who want a little more. Enjoy!
